CutScan

Privacy policy

1. Introduction

Who we are. CutScan is a mobile application developed by Dzmitry Ihnatsenka (Yellow Plant). It estimates body fat percentage from front and side photos you take in the app, and helps you track progress over time.

Purpose of this privacy policy. This policy explains how CutScan handles information. By using CutScan, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Information collection

CutScan does not require your name or email to use the scanner. Sign-in is anonymous: we create an account identifier on the device so your profile and scan history can sync with our servers.

Profile and goals. To run a scan we ask for details you enter during onboarding, such as sex, birth year, height, weight, goal, training habits, pace, and a target body-fat percentage. These are stored on our servers linked to your anonymous account.

Photos. Front and side photos you capture stay on your device for your own history and comparisons. When you run a scan, a compressed copy is sent to our API for analysis. Photo bytes are held only long enough to complete that analysis and are not stored on Yellow Plant servers. We keep scan results (estimated percentage, range, confidence, analysis text, and related numbers), not the images themselves.

Analysis providers. Scan photos are processed by an AI vision provider (via OpenRouter) solely to produce your estimate. That provider may process the image under its own terms for the duration of the request. We do not use your photos for advertising.

Purchases. If you subscribe to CutScan Pro, Apple processes the payment. We use RevenueCat to confirm your subscription. We do not receive your card number.

Technical data. Our servers may receive standard request metadata (such as IP address and user agent) when the app talks to the API, including for session security.

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. Camera access is used only to take scan photos you choose to capture.

3. Use of information

Information is used to:

CutScan provides estimates for personal fitness tracking. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for clinical measurement or professional advice.

4. Sharing of information

5. Data security

Photos remain on your device unless you back the device up or use Apple services that copy app data. Scan results and profile data on our servers are protected with reasonable measures. No digital system is completely secure.

6. Your data rights

You can delete local photos by removing them in the app or deleting the app. You may delete your server-side profile and scan history through the account-deletion controls in the app (where available), or by contacting us. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also ask us to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal information we hold, or object to processing.

To exercise these rights, contact dihnatsenka.studio@gmail.com.

7. International transfers

Our API, database, AI providers, Apple, and RevenueCat may process data outside your country. By using the app, you consent to such transfers where the law allows.

8. Children’s privacy

CutScan does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 16. If we become aware of data collected from children without verified parental consent, we will take steps to delete it.

9. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app or the law. The effective date at the top will change.

Using CutScan is also covered by our terms and conditions.
